The Certificate of Mobile Health/mHealth Basics Proficiency course introduces the learner to current trends in mobile health, provides an understanding of interconnectivity, outlines advantages and disadvantages and provides a hands-on lesson which demonstrates the communication between a sample device and the electronic health record (EHR).
mHealth (mobile health) is a term referring to the use of mobile phones, apps, devices, and other wireless technology in medical care. Mobile health tools educate consumers regarding preventive healthcare services, provide disease monitoring, treatment support, epidemic outbreak tracing, chronic disease management, wellness tracking among other functions.
At the completion of this course, the learner should be able to:
- Define and describe the importance of mHealth (Mobile Health)
- Present an overview of mHealth advantages and disadvantages
- Demonstrate an understanding of connectivity between tracking devices and health record tools
