LEADERSHIP-ROLE: Certified HIPAA Security Professional [Compliance Officers] (CHSP)
The 2025 Certified HIPAA Security Professional (CHSP) learning path is designed to provide training to compliance officers and administrators responsible for managing HIPAA requirements for healthcare and adjacent environments. The CHSP path includes 3 accredited certificate level courses covering up-to-date privacy and security rules, business associate requirements, breach mitigation policies as well as training and awareness program recommendations. At the completion of all three elements of this program, the learner will receive their professional credential as well as a dated badge/seal to add to resumes/CVs and online profiles.
Certificates included in this learning path:
1) Certificate of HIPAA Basics for Compliance Officers Proficiency (CHSP-B) compliance builder course delivers an in-depth understanding of the security and privacy rules which provide the foundation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). HIPAA basics for compliance officers include understanding that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) mandates strict security measures to protect patient health information (PHI), requiring IT professionals to implement technical safeguards like strong access controls, encryption, and regular data backups to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of electronic PHI (ePHI) stored on systems they manage.
2) Certificate of HIPAA BA and Support Proficiency (CHSP-S) compliance builder course delivers an in-depth understanding of the BA regulations, rules and breach mitigation strategies. HIPAA technical support refers to services provided by or on behalf of HIPAA compliance officers through business associates (BAs) to specifically adhere to HIPAA regulations. Support personnel must handle and protect sensitive patient health information (PHI) with the highest security standards to prevent unauthorized access or breaches, ensuring compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) law.
3) Certificate of HIPAA Awareness and Training Proficiency (CHSP-A) compliance builder course delivers an in-depth understanding of the role a HIPAA compliance officer plays in delivering awareness programs and training as part of their leadership role.
