LEADERSHIP-ROLE: Certified MACRA-MIPS Healthcare Professional (CMHP)
The CERTIFIED MACRA-MIPS HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL (CMHP) program provides comprehensive training covering the MIPS government incentive programs. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) Final Rule, including significant updates to the Quality Payment Program (QPP). Policy changes affect the traditional MIPS program, as well as reporting for Alternative Payment Models (APMs) and Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), and expansion of MIPS Value Pathways (MVPs).
This learning path delivers newly designed certificate level courses covering PI, Quality, IA, Cost, and MVP/APM categories, and includes an interactive hands-on attestation exercise using sample EHR data to attest in our academic mock QPP portal.
CERTIFICATE TITLES IN THIS PROFESSIONAL LEARNING PATH INCLUDE:
The Certificate of MACRA-MIPS Introductory Basics Proficiency (CMHP-INTRO) course provides an in-depth overview of the current MIPS programs and parameters based on the newest final rule.
The Certificate of MACRA-MIPS Cost Proficiency (CMCP) course covers the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) Cost category which measures a healthcare provider's ability to manage healthcare costs while providing high-quality care. It's one of four performance categories that contribute to a clinician's final MIPS score, which determines their Medicare payment adjustment.
The Certificate of MACRA-MIPS Promoting Interoperability (PI) Proficiency course provides a comprehensive understanding of the PI category. The "Promoting Interoperability" category within MIPS is a performance category that focuses on encouraging healthcare providers to utilize certified electronic health record technology (CEHRT) to readily exchange patient health information electronically, thereby improving patient access to their medical records and facilitating data sharing between clinicians; this category accounts for a significant portion of a provider's overall MIPS score.
The Certificate of MACRA-MIPS Quality Proficiency (CMQP) course provides a comprehensive attestation level understanding of the MIPS Quality category. Quality is a performance category in MIPS that measures the quality of healthcare. It assesses how well clinicians and groups perform on quality measures including: Healthcare processes (The steps that should be followed to provide good care), Outcomes: (The results of the care provided) and Patient experiences: (How patients experience the care they receive).
The Certificate of MIPS Value Pathways/APM Basics Proficiency (MVP-APM) course provides a high-level overview of both the MIPS Value Pathways (MVPs) and Alternative Payment Models (APMs) which primarily measure performance across three categories: Quality, Improvement Activities, and Promoting Interoperability; however, unlike traditional MIPS, APMs only consider these three categories, excluding the "Cost" category.
HANDS-ON PRACTICE (optional): Reporting and PI Attestation Exercise: This unique hands-on attestation exercise uses sample EHR data and a mock QPP portal to provide a real-world reporting experience. Especially helpful for learners who will be attesting for the first time.
Why is this course important?
